VAN MAHOTSAVA DAY
CELEBRATION
“Van
mahotsava” literally means “the festival of forests”. It has gained significant
importance every year. Millions of saplings are planted across India in
observation of Van Mahotsava. It helps spread awareness about the harm caused
by the cutting down of trees, and it is expected that every citizen of India
will plant a sapling in the Van Mahotsava week. As we all know that Trees clean
the air. They absorb odours and pollutant gases and filter particulates out of
the air. Therefore, people celebrate Van Mahotsava by planting trees or
saplings in and near their homes, offices, schools and colleges. On 16th July,
2018, Van Mahotsava was celebrated in our college under National Service Scheme
Camp. Our honourable Principal ma’am introduced us to the importance of trees
