2017-18 Activities

CAREER COUNSELING CAMPAIGN
Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing organized a career counseling campaign to make aware rural girls & Women about the skilled courses in our college. Six faculty members of the department rotation wise visited to various villages of Ferozepur & Zira district. The lists of various villages are as follows: 
  Ø Mohan ke taaharh, Jeeva Rai, Kande Shah, Mahalam, Aku maste ke, Nizamwala, Baghe ke, Mehar singh wala, Mahiyan singh wala, Vakeelan Wali, Katora, Tega singh wala, Mamdot, Machi warha, Barr ke and Jodhpur.
The objective of this visit was to aware the +2 standard girls 2 year diploma course of Community (Fashion Designing) and 3 year degree course of B. Voc (Textile &  Fashion Technology) graduation program. All the girls’ students were announced to assemble in the gurudwara and teachers explained the scope and value of these programs. They introduced them about umpteen career opportunities of the course and its scope apart from other fields like engineering and arts etc. We received overwhelming response from students who are at the cross road of choosing carrier after +2 education and the house wives who are below the age 45. In the interactive session, plenty of queries were answered. They got lot of knowledge & prepared their mind to join these courses.
It was a successful visit for the students as well as for teachers.


STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
A student enrichment program was organized on 28/7/2017 by the Fashion Designing department in collaboration with the PG department of Cosmetology & Health Care. This enrichment program was planned for the students of B.voc (Textile & Fashion Technology) degree around 70 students (approx.). The main objective of this program is to develop all rounds and well balanced personality of the students.
This workshop was conducted by Ms. Arundatti Sharma, Lecturer in Cosmetology & Health Care. She started the workshop with a very creative introduction and she interacted with students also.




She demonstrated the self make up techniques and Easy to do hairstyles for students. Students showed keen interest to learn these techniques and styles of grooming. Students had some questions and she replied in appropriate manner. She also encouraged the students to be optimistic and to have positive approach about everything in life. Overall, it was very fruitful student enrichment program
CANDLE MAKING WORKSHOP
          Two days Candle Making workshop  was organized in the department of Home Science and Fashion Designing on  1st-2nd Aug, 2017.  Mrs. Rekha Mehta, Assistant Professor in Fashion Designing, explained the material required to make candles. She gave demonstration to prepare candle in different styles. She also demonstrated many methods to decorate candles with flowers, glitters etc.
INDUCTION MEETING
          Every year Department of Fashion Designing conduct an induction meeting for new batch it admits. , In this session, Induction meeting was held on 8th Aug, 2017 in collaboration with the department of Cosmetology and Health Care. This meeting comprises of an open hall interaction with the fresher students. Worthy Principal madam Dr (Mrs) Madhu Prashar, very warm welcomed the fresher students and shared their valuable thoughts and experiences. She also explained the purpose of education, role and responsibilities of students, Communication skills, personality development, curriculum details, job prospects and scope of these B. Voc courses etc. Old students also shared their views and experiences and encouraged the new ones to take participation in each and every activity of college. After that, fresher students are encouraged to put questions if any. At the end Principal madam thanked them for choosing these B.Voc degree programmes as means for enhancing their education achievements.

QUILTING WORKSHOP
          Quilting is the process of sewing two or more layers of fabric together to make a thicker padded material, usually to create quilted garment. Two day workshop on quilting techniques was origanzed by Home Science  and Fashion Designing department on 9th-10th Aug, 2017. In this workshop, Mrs. Anchal, Lecturer In Fashion Designing, explained the material required and steps involved in Quilting the fabric. She demonstrated the technique of quilting and she made many articles like baby bib, baby quilt, Bed sheets, pillow covers, cushion covers, mats and many more household utility articles. Almost all students of Home Science and Fashion Designing Department were involved and by learning this technique many of the students prepared household articles. This workshop was a very skill oriented and students enthusiastically participated in this workshop.




COOKING COMPETITION
          Cooking competition on 11th Aug 2017An inter class cooking competition was organized in which all the Home Science students participated.
          A variety of snacks were cooked & displayed by the competitors.
          All the recipes cooked were well garnished and presented and was appreciated by all.




INTERCLASS TALENT HUNT
          On 12th August, 2017 Inter Class Talent hunt  was organized by Home Science and Fashion Designing Department in the following items: Phulkari embroidery, Dasuti, Crochet, Knitting, Pakhi making, Mehandi, Rangoli.
          Student entries were invited from various streams. A good number of students showed interest and participated in various heritage items and displayed their talent in the traditional art and craft. All were appreciated by madam Principal and other faculty members. The best student were selected for the upcoming youth festival.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
          On 14th august 2017, Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing celebrated Independence day with zeal and spirit befitting the occasion. this day was a red letter day in the history of India when the country got freedom on 15th Aug, 1947. Students prepared household articles, accessories, dresses, flowers, bouquets, jewellery with Indian tricolours and exhibited their work for sale. Many of the students spoke on the significance of this day. Our worthy principal madam, Dr. (Mrs.) Madhu Prashar graced this occasion and glad to see the interest of students towards this celebration. Madam Principal advised the students to become ideal citizens of the country. Students enjoyed the whole day of celebration with their friends and teachers.
TEEJ CELEBRATION
                   Department of Home Science & Fashion Designing organized a revenue – generation campaign “Exhibition cum sale”. Students of Fashion Designing Department set up sale counter in the campus on 14th to 16th Aug as a part of Teej celebration to sell their hand made products. A large number of items that students use on an every day basis included fancy rubber bands, jewellery, bangles, pen stand, quilted items & other household decorative and utility items. Each student prepared a beautiful hand made products by using their imagination and creativity and depicted their patriotic thoughts in the most appealing manner.
                   On this occasion, The Home Science students put by a stall of home made Rainbow sandwiches. The sandwiches were prepared by the 3rd year home science students. To the amaze of the dept within 1 hour of the opening of the stall, these all sold out. This was an activity that students enjoyed and also learnt the art of selling meeting deadlines.
                    This campaign turned out to be highly enriching, enthralling and exciting experience for all the students.
TRAINING PROGRAMME
Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing conducted a Training Programme for women on 18th Aug, 2017. Mahalam village of Ferozepur district was selected as the focal village for this training programme. The entire training programme was based on importance of education, to create awareness and to incorporate and upgradation of  skill for the growth of women.
The sarpanch of the village Mr. Daljeet Singh Sandhu assembled women in common place.
Dr. (Mrs) Vandana Gupta, HOD, Department of Home Science & Fashion Designing was briefed about the training programme and its importance specifically for the women with regards to ways to incorporate skills and to become entrepreneur.
In this Training, Dr.(Mrs) Vandana Gupta and Ms. Monica Gautam demonstrated the recipes of food preservation. Dr. (Mrs) Khushwinder Gill, demonstrated the technique of Phullkari Embroidery and explained the significance and to prepare different articles from this embroidery. Different methods of quilting and patchwork demonstrated by Mrs. Anchal. She explained the technique to make best utilization of waste fabrics.
WORKSHOP ON PRINTING AND PAINTING TECHNIQUES
          Textile printing and painting is a traditional form of fabric design. In order to incorporate the skills to students of Fashion Designing, a workshop entitled “Textile Printing and Painting was organized in the Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing on 23rd Aug, 2017. Dr.Khushwinder Gill demonstrated the techniques of printing and dyeing- wood block printing, different texture making techniques, free hand painting and stencil painting and printing etc. She also explained the kind of material required for printing and painting and care of printed and painted fabrics. Students actively learnt the techniques and made beautiful articles like dupattas, kurties, bed sheets, over sheets, pillow covers, cushion covers, hankies, T-shirts, tops etc. by using these techniques.
CAREER COUNSELING CAMPAIGN
To make aware rural girls & women about the skilled courses in our college, Department of Home Science & Fashion Designing organized a Career Counseling Campaign in Buttewala, Bazidpur, Pyaareana, Noorpur Sethan villages of Ferzoepur and Zira district on 24th Aug, 2018. 
SWATCH BHARAT ABHIYAN
Swatch Bharat Abhiyan is a campaign in India that aims to clean up streets, surroundings, roads and infrastructure in cities. Dev Samaj College for Women organized a drive under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan Program. Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing faculty and students involved in this cleanliness drive on 4th Sept, 2017. The main purpose of this drive was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits. Dr. Vandana Gupta HOD, gave a lecture on personal hygiene and gave instructions about cleanliness of cooking area of canteen and to use covered dustbins. In the end, we all took oath of keeping our college, home, locality and city clean. The whole drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the staff and students. It was a unique experience for all of us. We were very curious to be a part of this great drive that could have transformed the face of our country forever.
TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION
Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing celebrated Teacher’s day on 5th Sep,2017. Principal Madam addressed the students and appreciated the sincerest efforts of celebration teachers in playing a catalytic role in holistic development of every student. Students also expressed their gratitude and appreciation for teachers on this day
STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME 
The Department of Home Science & Fashion Designing   held an Enrichment Programme for the students of Commerce Department where the students were taught a few basic Jhatpat snacks and their presentations on 7th Sept, 2017. The students put by a grand snack party to honour respected Principal Madam, Dean College Development and the Teachers.
TWO DAYS WORKSHOP: “EASY TO SEW”
          Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing organized two days workshop on 13th-14th Sep 2017. This workshop entitled “Easy to sew dresses”. This workshop was for the B.Voc (Textile and Fashion Technology) 1st year students.  Mrs. Ruchi Sharma, demonstrated different quick and easy techniques of cutting fabric to make beautiful dresses with in 15-20 minutes. By learning these quick techniques of cutting and stitching, students made Tops, Harrems, Shrigs, Kaftaans etc. Second day students exhibited their prepared garments. This was a very interesting and educative workshop.
WORLD OZONE DAY
World ozone day was celebrated by department of Chemistry on 16th Sept, 2016. A poster making competition was planned to bring awareness amongst the student to save the planet. “Hazards of ozone depletion” and necessity to “Save the Environment and our planet” was the main topics. All the posters were very attractive and informative. Two faculty members from Home science Department- Dr. (Mrs) Vandana  Gupta, Head, Deptt. of Home Science, Mrs. Rekha Rani, Assistant Professor were invited for the judgment on this occasion. It was really a very good effort to mark the day by the students of Chemistry Department.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT
Industrial visit to Neva Garments Ludhiana was organized by Home Science & Fashion Designing department on 20th September 2017. Fifty four  students of B.Voc (Textile and Fashion Technology) 1st , 2nd , & 3rd year  and two faculty members Mrs. Rekha and Ms. Deepika visited in industry. The purpose of visit was to acquaint the students about working of industrial machines. Students learnt in detail about various departments like Knitting department, Cutting department, Stitching department, finishing department & dispatching department. The production head of the industry shared scope of its vocational courses and appreciated the interest shown by the students.
ZONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL
58th Zonal Youth Festival was hosted by Khalsa College Sidhwan Khurd,  from 20th  -23rd  Oct, 2017. Seven students of Home Science & Fashion Designing Department took active participation in Art &Heritage Items. All the participants  performed their best and bagged prizes as - Knitting  1st , Mehandi 1st , Phulkari: 1st  , Crochet: 1st , Bagh Embroidery : 2nd And Pakhi Making: 1st .
PARTICIPATION IN INTER ZONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL
59th Inter zonal Youth Festival was held at DAV College Hoshiarpur from 31st Oct, 2017. The Prize winners of Zonal Youth Festival competed further in Inter Zonal Youth Festival. In this Festival, students performed their best and bagged positions as: Phulkari:  3rd       , Crochet:  3rd       ,  Knitting:3rd        Mehandi : 2nd .
INDUSTRIAL VISIT
Industrial visit to Sportking Industries (Classic Wears) and Marble Dyeing & Printing Unit, Ludhiana was organized by Home Science and Fashion Designing Department on 31st Oct, 2017. Thirty three students along with two faculty members visited the industry. Students learnt in detail about production, finishing, dyeing and Printing processes. The production head of the industry, shared his views regarding the wider scope of this vocational courses and appreciated the interest shown by the students.
MASS CAREER COUNSELING CAMPAIGN
Mass Counseling campaign was started by Honorable District Education Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur from 6th Nov-30th Nov, 2017.  Faculty members of the department visited schools of villages of Zira and Ferozepur District such as Lakho ke Behram, Kassoana etc. The addresses and contact number of the students who showed interest in these courses was noted to further counsel them , before the admission to the new session began.
FOUDER’S DAY CELEBRATION
The Holy soul BHAGWAN DEVATMA JI’s birthday was celebrated by Home Science & Fashion Designing Department on 16th  Nov,2017. Poster making competition was organized in the department. Around 30 students participated in poster making competition. They depicted the preaches of BHAGWAN DEVATMA JI’s in the form of slogans.

These teachings are the strong pillars of value education for the students. Madam Principal (Dr.Mrs.Madhu Prashar)& Dean college development (Mr. Prateek Prashar) appreciated the student’s work and motivated them to follow the teachings of BAGHWAN DEVATMA JI.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
           To upgrade the skill level of rural people, Dev Samaj College for women, has always been taken a step forward for their upliftment. During NSS Camp, Department of Home Science and  Fashion Designing organized a workshops in Government school, Village Noorpur Sethan, District Ferozepur on 21st Dec, 2017.  Various activities like ‘best out of waste’, ‘Food preservation-such as squash making and pickle making’, Tie &Dye and Printing were demonstrated to the students. Mrs.Ruchi Sharma, Assistant Professor in Fashion Designing explained the students to make use of waste plastic and glass bottles, waste containers etc. She demonstrated to prepare some decorative and utility articles from these waste materials. She also explained the availability of decorative material in market. Ms. Monica Gautam, Assistant Professor In Home Science, Gave demonstration of Food preservation Recipies like- Pickle making, Squash making etc. Dr. Khushwinder Gill and Mrs. Anchal, Deptt of Fashion Designing taught Tie Dye Techniques, Block Printing and Stencil printing. Students and teachers took keen interest in this workshop.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
          Faculty members of Home Science and Fashion Designing in association with members of Women empowerment cell visited village Sodhewala District Ferozepur  on 10th Jan, 2018. People assembled in Government school and our worthy Principal Madam, Dr (Mrs) Madhu Prashar, addressed the people and guided women to learn skills to become small scale entrepreneur. The purpose of this visit was to aware rural people about girl’s education, health services and to teach the skill so as to help them generate extra income by adapting this skill as self employment techniques. Principal Madam celebrated lohri festival with school children and distributed eatables to these children. Therefore, this type of activity helps to empower communities, to develop healthy life style and to improve quality of life.
WORKSHOP ON PERSONAL GROOMING
         Seven days workshop was organized for the students of B.Voc (Textile Fashion Technology) and Community Fashion Designing from 13th Feb, 2018 to 17th Feb, 2018. The main aim of this workshop to enhance student’s communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to function in professional and social settings effectively; to enrich the academic language skills (writing and presentation skills) for academic writing and presentations; to understand effective planning, time management and implementation for setting goals and achieving both personal and professional goals; to learn to evaluate oneself (self appraisal and introspection) for further growth, personally and professionally.
         The Resource person for this workshop was Mr. Ishu Joshi, Choreographer, Saroj Khan Academy. He started the workshop with a very creative introductory session, where students had to introduce themselves in a novel way.  Then he started discussion on The Self, one’s desires, dreams, passions and motivations. Students were told how important their dreams and desires are for developing the personality.
            Next, two days, he demonstrated self makeup techniques and some simple hair styles. He also demonstrated tips to prepare accessories. To sum up, it was a well thought-out and enriched workshop of motivating the students to discover themselves.
STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
                        A student enrichment Programme of “Accessory Designing” organized by Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing for the students of Department of Hospital Administration and Management on 17th Feb , 2018. Dr. Khushwinder Gill and B.Voc TFT 3rd year students demonstrated the techniques of designing and preparing routine wear accessories like earrings, necklaces, anklets, bangles, pouches etc. Students of HAM showed great interest and prepared accessories.
FASHION SHOW “ASTITVA – 2018 ”
A very elaborate and dazzling Runway Fashion show “Astitva – 2018 ” was organized by the students and faculty of Home Science and Fashion Designing Department in collaboration with department of Cosmetology & Health Care, choreographed  by Mr. Ishu  Joshi (Saroz Khan Academy Chandigarh), staged at DSCW on 18th Feb, 2018 . Students showcased their wonderful creativity on the  dress material as they presented their creations on the ramp.  Here, around 80 students walked on the ramp in breathtaking lovely theme based outfits designed by the students of B.Voc and Community Fashion Designing. The Fashion show  divided into various theme based rounds and in each theme judges were able to explore a new form of creativity. The judges were hard pressed to reach a decision as almost all the performances were par excellence. Some prizes had therefore, to be bracketed. Best and unique dress models received the loudest applause from the audience. Our worthy Principal Dr. (Mrs) Madhu Prasher thanked the Judges , delegates and audience. The show was the great success and was the talk of the day.
EXHIBITION CUM SALE OF HAND-MADE ARTICLES
On the occasion of Annual Grand Mela 2018 Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing organized revenue generation exhibition cum sale of hand made products such as accessories, household articles quilted articles, printing articles etc. Worthy Principal Madam & Chief Guest was impressed to see the creativity of students. They also appreciated the work-experience of teachers who had guided the student so well and for tapping and grooming their hidden talent.
After inauguration, the exhibition stall was flooded with people. The responses of parents, student and visitors were amazing. The sale too was satisfactory and the feeling of enthusiasm prevailed and inspiring the students to do better in future also.
WORKSHOP ON TEXTILE PRINTING AND PAINTING TECHNIQUES
Department of Home Science & Fashion Designing conducted a workshop (23rd Feb, 2018) to upgrade the skill of Textile Printing & Painting. In this workshop, Dr. Khushwinder Kaur Gill taught the different methods of printing  and gave demonstration of Block, Stencil & Spray printing on fabrics. Students made elegant printing designs on fabrics and exhibited the prepared garments. She also taught the Fabric Painting Techniques with organza fabric and students learnt various painting ideas.  Students showed keen interest in learning the techniques of Painting and Printing.
CAREER COUNCELLING SESSION
        A career counseling Session was conducted for the B.Voc Textile and Fashion Technology and Community Fashion Designing Students on 26th Feb, 2018. The aim of this session was to guide as well as counsel students to choose their right career paths depending in their interests and skill set.  Mrs. Aradhana Singh, a Renowned Counselor conducted an interactive session with students and motivated the students to set their goals and word hard to meet expectations. She highlighted the importance of Vocational and skilled education in today’s world.
ROZGAR MELA PARTICIPATION
Government of Punjab held Rozgaar Mela held on 5th march 2018 in SBS STC Ferozepur, and  Students of B voc Textile & Fashion Technology took part in the mela and were interviewed by various company’s representatives. Representative from SEL Textiles LTD. Industries gave the lecture on job opportunities in the industrial level for textile students. Participation by students in the job fest and facing interviews helped in their confidence building also. They came to know about the vast field of fashion designing stream. It was educative as well as informative. Few of our students were shortlisted for jobs with good pay scales. All students stated that they were satisfied overall with the event.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY CELEBRATION
               Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing celebrated International Women’s day on 8th March, 2018. On this day, Our College organized a rally in Ferozepur city. Mr. Parminder Singh Pinky, MLA Ferozepur was the chief guest of this occasion. All the Teachers and B.Voc Students assembled at Gurudwara Saragarhi Sahib and Walked towards Saheed Bhagat Singh Stadium via mall road. In Stadium there were speeches, debates, cultural activities and Prize distribution etc. worthy Principal Madam (Dr. Mrs Madhu Prashar) congratulate the students and audience on this occasion.  She stated that women and men are equal beings, deserves the same respect, opportunities and are equally responsible for building a better future.
STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
An Enrichment programme of ‘Party Makeup’ was conducted  by Department of Cosmetology and Health Care for the students of B.Voc (Textile & Fashion Technology) on 15th March, 2018. Party makeup techniques taught by Ms. Arundatti Sharma, assistant Professor, Cosmetology & Health care. In this workshop students learnt self makeup skills with stylish hairdos. The purpose of this Enrichment Programme was to develop all round and well balanced personality of students.
STATE LEVEL WORKSHOP ON “TEXTILE PRINTING METHODS”
                Two days State level workshop “Textile Printing Methods” organized by Department of Home Science and fashion Designing on 22nd March, 2018. The Resource person for this workshop was Mr. Ashwini Kumar, Brightway Colors, Amritsar. More than 60 students of B.Voc (Textile and Fashion Technology) and Community Diploma fashion Designing Students attended this workshop. The main aim of this workshop was to upgrade the knowledge base in Textile printing techniques. Sir gave demonstration on Batik Dyeing with naphthol dyes, Block Printing and Screen printing etc. This workshop proved  beneficial for the students and they made beautiful articles using these techniques.
WORKSHOP ON ‘HOW TO DRAPE A FABRIC INTO GARMENT’
      A workshop on ‘How to drape a fabric into garment’ was organized by Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing on 20th March, 2018. Mrs ruchi Sharma, Assistant Professor, taught different draping techniques for different events whether formal, casual or special party events. All the students found the experience very valuable and were very engaged
WORKSHOP ON TIE AND DYE METHODS
            Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing organized a workshop on ‘Tie and dye’ on 10th April, 2018 for B.Voc (Textile and Fashion Technology) students. Dr. Vandana Gupta, Associate Professor demonstrated the process of Tie and dye. Students were taught to tie a piece of cloth and dip it in a complicated mixture of colors. Later when the knots were removed students were astonished to find different designs on each one cloth. Students showed their skill of tying the fabric and then they dyed the fabric in traditional way. By doing this activity the students not only learnt an art form, but also had a glimpse of our rich tradition and cultur
STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
A student enrichment program was organized by Department of Home Science and Fashion Designing on 13th April, 2018 for the students of Post Graduate Department of Punjabi. The main objective of this program is to incorporate skills regarding Textiles beyond their field of expertise. Dr. Khushwinder Gill, Assistant Professor, demonstrated hand block and stencil printing. She explained how to prepare paste for printing and taught various texture making techniques.
During this workshop students got to develop their skills in block printing, Texture making, Stencil printing and also gain experience by learning and working. Students were amazed to see how the prints and textures are prepared with small wooden blocks and stencils by using natural colors.
WORKSHOP ON GARNISHING
 It is said that we eat with our eyes hence garnishing of food is very important   in making the food acceptable. A workshop on Garnishing was organized by the Department of Home Science & Fashion Designing on 16 April, 2018. Attractive garnishes play an important role in preparation and serving of food. Worthy Principal Madam Dr. (Mrs) Madhu Prashar, an expert in garnishing taught the students the perfect art of garnishing and material used for the same.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT
Industrial visit to Sportking Industries Pvt Lmt  Ludhiana was organized by Fashion Designing Department on 1st May, 2018. Thirty three students along with two faculty members visited the industry. The purpose of visit was to acquaint the students about working of industrial machines including heat transfer printing machines, logo making machines etc. Students learnt in detail about embroidery, finishing and production processes. The production head of the industry, shared  his views regarding the wider scope of this vocational courses and appreciated the interest shown by the students..

The entire training programme was based on importance of education, to create awareness and to incorporate skill for small scale entrepreneurship. Around 80 women were assembled in gururdwara sahib.  Mrs. Ruchi Sharma, and Mrs Anchal, Department of Fashion Designing, demonstrated the tie dye and Block printing techniques. They also explained the significance of printing  and to prepare different articles from this embroidery.
WORKSHOP ON FABRIC PAININTG AND ACCESSORY DESIGNING BY FEVICRYL HOBBY IDEAS
Department of Home Science & Fashion Designing organized two days workshop on Fabric painting and accessory making by Fevicryl Hobby Ideas on 7th – 8th  May, 2018. The resource person for this workshop was Ms. Yukti , Instructor, Fevicryl.   She taught the students about the techniques of making designs using shilpkaar (Clay). Students learnt jewellery making and  fabric dyeing with soft acrylic colors. They enjoyed this workshop and was beneficial for updating their practical knowledge.
WORKSHOP ON DRAPING TECHNIQUES
Draping is an art. It is essential for the students of fashion designing. Taking it into the consideration,  Department  of Fashion Designing organized a workshop on draping skills for the  Community Fashion Designing students on  11th May, 2018. Mrs Ruchi Sharma, Assistant  Professor in Fashion Designing taught the students different methods of draping .Students tried different styles on dress forms and it was really fruitful  workshop for students.
